The George Lloyd Music Library
The George Lloyd Music Library publishes the opera, orchestral, choral and chamber work.
Music for Brass and Wind is published by Music Sales and Boosey & Hawkes.
Perusal scores are available for download free of charge (sign in required.)
Location and facilities:
The library is housed in specially converted premises in the Upper Kent valley, near Kendal in Cumbria. Set in a beautiful rural location between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks, the library maintains the collection of full scores, study scores, perusal scores, orchestral sets, vocal scores, and performance material. This material is available for sale, for hire, or for study. The library houses all of Lloyd's personal copies of his scores, marked for performance and recording, together with an archive of biographical material including catalogued correspondence, photographs, concert programmes and other ephemera.
The original manuscripts were acquired by The British Library in 2013, Lloyd's centenary year, and that Library has provided us with high definition digital scans. Other library resources, available to members of The George Lloyd Society, include a comfortable meeting room, computer and audio facilities, and a small performance venue with George Lloyd's own Erard piano. An adjoining self-contained cottage may be available for short stays by arrangement.
